The card uses a technique with a stencil, a sponge, and ink pads that I saw on the MFP/Speedy TV Stampers Columns Basic Backgrounds. Thanks, Pat! You punch or die cut shapes into card stock and then use it as a stencil to apply ink to your background paper. I used a rectangle shape, but only a corner of it and in some places, just the edge of it, and I kept changing directions and overlapping the color. Below is a stencil for butterflies that I made but did not overlap the images. You can image how many variations you can have depending on colors, shapes, and overlapping or separating the images/shapes. The butterfly background will have more layers of colors and some embossing to finish it off. It's an interesting technique try.
My card will be entered into the following challenges and I hope it will keep me smiling to counter a dreary and drizzly day in Florida.
