Hope Your Birthday Is a Hoot!

Hello, friends!
It's time for another Craftaholics R Us Challenge.
This week the theme is birds.
I used to create owl figures;  now I collect owl images.

To inspire you to join us, I have created this project.

Won't you join us this week?

Live Life in Stitches

If you've been "taking down Christmas," you are now focusing on the new year and new beginnings.  I hope when you decide to make your written or mental list of new year's resolutions, you will include allowing time to feed your soul with creative projects.  Whether you sew, draw, paint, dabble in photography, do paper crafts or any other creative outlet, make sure this new year allows some time for these things.

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that the new year will mean endings as well.  Diane's Daydream Designs is going out of business.  All her amazing designs on sale at her site through the end of this month. I have so enjoyed being a member of her "dream team" this year and working with her designs has been a great joy.

My card today is called "Live Life in Stitches" and uses images and papers from Diane's Daydream DesignsI love quilts, and since I don't sew, but make quilt cards instead, this set speaks to me.   I resized the papers from the Sew Sweet set and an image from Quilted from the Heart to create a card.  The stitches were created using a rubber stamp, but I'm still searching for the name of the company.

Stop in and tell Diane I sent you!

See you soon!

Counting My Blessings

Is your gratitude journal up to date?
This month is the perfect time to
begin that habit again.
Don't we all have so much to be thankful for?
We will be proclaiming it aloud tomorrow, but
hopefully, we are keeping gratitude
in our hearts all year long.
If I kept an "illustrated" journal,
this card front would go inside.

    My Grateful Heart

Sometimes you will see a sentiment
and it will "speak" to you
because of its simplicity and use of color.
Plus there was that darling pumpkin as well.
It's all to be found at Diane's Daydream Designs
I challenged myself to work from the basket
and here is my completed card.
     I hope you like it.

    Falling for Fall

Our mountain is full of poplar and birch yellows and we take rides through the countryside to see the yellows and oranges on the hillsides.

If I had my choice, I would take a long vacation beginning in New England and following fall all the way down to Georgia.  A friend of mine just visited north Georgia and the colors haven't started there yet so it seems my trip would continue well into November in order to "follow fall."

Did you guess that I have another fall card to share with you today?

Image:  Diane's Daydream Designs Signs of Fall
Papers:  Recollections and Diane's Daydream Designs
Embellishments:    Darice Quilt embossing folder, MS corner punch, Offray ribbon

Here's a little bit of detail I used at the bottom of the card using a MS corner punch to create a border.

    Happy Fall, y'all!

    Fall Is Here

Fall images are everywhere and today I have a favorite one to share from Diane's Daydream Designs.

I love to create a quilt-like background by resizing digital papers from a set called
    Fall Digi Papers.

The image is from Fall Is Here.

    Welcome Fall

Is September or October your favorite month of fall?  Here in NC, I am torn between the subtle changes that occur in September and the bursts of color in October.  Each has their own beauty and each should be welcomed with thoughts of gratitude.  I have a lovely leafy wreath from Diane's Daydream Designs to share with you today.  Welcome fall and enjoy!

    Fall is in the Air

It's September, the days are getting shorter, and the angle of sunlight creates softer shadows.  Breezes force the first of the leaves off the branches before the colors can change.  The summer flowers are beginning to fade and the mums are in the garden departments.  Fall is in the air!

Today I have a flip card using images from Diane's Daydream Designs that I would like to share at the Just Us Girls Challenge.  It's a photo inspiration challenge and I believe this card will qualify.

The outside uses a sentiment from Fall Is in the Air.

The inside circle has an image from Pumpkins and Sunflowers.

I would like to enter the following challenges as well:

Birthday Celebrations at My Sheri Crafts

Hello, my friends!  Today I am happy to share a project as guest designer at the My Sheri Crafts challenge.  Thanks so much, Sheri, for inviting me to participate.  The theme of the challenge is "birthday celebrations."  You can't ever have enough birthday cards on hand so why don't you stop in and participate.

My card uses images from Diane's Daydream Designs from a set called Quilted from the Heart and the sentiment is from Diane's collaboration with Kris Breach called Birthday Bash KD Kit.  I embossed the kraft card blank with a wood grain embossing folder, popped up each layer and tied a jute bow.  I'm thinking fall since the first official day of fall is right around the corner.

Thanks for stopping in today and join me at these challenges:

    Happy Bee Day Boy

Happy Tuesday!  I am sharing a cheerful card today using an image from a KD Kit that you can find at Diane's Daydream Designs. It's a collaboration set from Diane Noble and Kris Breach and is so cute!   It's bright and sunny and this image is perfect for a little boy.  I'm entering it in the progressive challenge at Imagine That.

    Back to School

It's back to school time and the stores have been jam packed with school supplies.  Nothing could be more fun for a child than to have some of those wonderful supplies in their backpack.  That inspired me to do a digital collage using Diane's Daydream Designs set called School Supplies Color Set you can find HERE.  I think it is a love for these supplies that created a whole culture of crafty people.  Here is my card.

    The Beach Calls My Name...

Hello and welcome new followers:  Joejaykandi, Sanda, Vicki, Emily T, Shelly S, 3ickleangels, Judith, Benzi, Zella, aussie aNNie, Danielle V, and Debi.  If I missed anyone, let me know and if I repeated your welcome, you are welcome again!

What inspired the card I will share with you today?  We haven't been to the beach in quite a while and the beach is calling my name.  It was cold and gray when we went last winter so we should try to go again while the sun is out.  That is what inspired this card using Diane's Daydream Designs digis.  I couldn't decide how many of the shells to pop up so it turned out to be a fairly flat card.  Easy peasy mailing!

I love to use burlap with blue and so I was happy to use Diane's pre-colored image for the card. My Cuttlebug shell dies and wood-grained embossing folder seemed just right to finish off the card.

I couldn't decide how many of the shells to pop up so it turned out to be a fairly flat card.  Easy peasy mailing!

    Hammock by the Sea

Give me a hammock by the sea, please.  The days of August just call us to the beach and sand between our toes.  Take a moment to create a mental hammock by the sea if you can't take a trip or if the sea isn't nearby.

    A Walk in Winter

We've had some pretty gray and cold days recently in Florida.  We even had snow in Pensacola which is unusual.  I can attribute this A...
