Flourishes You're Egg-stra Special

It's Spring and time to think pastels.  Vickie challenged us to use pastels and I decided white embossing, Distress Oxide inks, and the Diamond Background would be a perfect back drop for the basket from Vintage Easter.  So it's pastels this week for the Friends DT from Flourishes.  Be sure to stop by the Flourishes store and blog to see what is new.

Now check out the rest of the team to see what they have created using the theme of "pastels."

Love, Love, Love

Hello again.  With only a month until Valentine's Day, love is on our minds, and It's time to share an image and project from Flourishes.  Shirley has challenged the Friends of Flourishes design team to use the theme "Love Makes the World Go Around."  And what do you think of when you think of Valentine's Day and love?  Roses.  Who can resist roses?  Not many of us, and the red ones are so wonderful.  I am using an image from the Endearing Rose set and every red and green alcohol marker in my stash.  I will share this project with my friends at World Art Wednesday.

How did I do it?  I used a digital version, extracted the roses from the roses/vase image in the set, enlarged it for a square card and the correct size for the grid die.  Then I colored it, and cut it with the grid die.   And the bow?  My bow maker is in a secret and safe location so I am practicing a new technique for a double ribbon bow that I found HERE.  I figure I can always find my left hand and it's always available.

Now you should check out the Friends DT and see what they have created for your viewing pleasure based on our theme. Davi , Gloria, Kren, Shirley, Toni ,Vickie .
