Boat Load of Fun

Hello, Friends.  It's kReN here and I'm sharing a masculine card this week. Shirley, my Friends of Flourishes DT colleague, has challenged us to do a masculine card.  I thought of the boat in Coastal Christmas. It's so easy to modify a stamp to use just part of the image.   I had so much fun making this card that I am wishing I had made more than one while I was creating.  Live and learn!

It's PIP time again and I have an image from Gerda Steiner Designs with the cutest kitty.  I won this kitty set for her 12 Days of Christmas celebration (Thank you, Gerda!) and I am so glad I won it!  Because you can't ever have enough birthday cards on hand, here's one to add to my stash. Join us at Pammie's Inky Pinkie Anything Goes Challenge this week for Newton's Nook as our sponsor.

Angel Wishes

Hello, friends!  It's Monday and my turn to share a reminder for the PIP Challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  We're always Anything Goes so it's easy to participate.  This week's sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  Jodi has the most adorable images for you to use for scrapbooking and card making.  This image is called I Believe Angels and I did a bit of digital magic.  I removed the Believe sentiment so I could stamp my own sentiment.  Digitals are so versatile for sizing and extracting portions of the image. I used Copic and Promarkers and a Sizzix die cut for the cute scalloped card base.  Please join us for our challenge!

Thinking of You

Second only to birthday cards, thinking of you cards have to be in my stash.  This type of card fits so many occasions and seem to fly off to the post office.  Today, my card is a little different for a Florida girl. We don't have Winter Crocus in Florida.  I have some daffodils on my kitchen table right now, but I don't remember ever seeing a Winter Crocus so it's fun to do a card with one.  Mr. Google had to help me with the colors.  Flourishes had just what I needed.  It's part of the Year of Flowers sets and is called Year of Flowers 1.

Flourishes supplies:  Classic Card Stock, Year of Flowers 1
Other supplies:  sentiment die, ribbon, Promarkers, Copic Markers, Chameleon Markers, Tombow Adhesive, Momento Dye Ink

The Way You Are

Hello, friends.  Today I am thinking about friendship and the warm and cozy feelings associated with friends.    I love that a true friend accepts you the way you really are.
The image for this card is a freebie from Paper Smooches.  I had some fun with it and hope you get my sense of humor.  I am entering my project in the monthly challenge at Paper Smooches  blog entitled "cozy" and Word Art Wednesday.

Love, Love, Love

Hello again.  With only a month until Valentine's Day, love is on our minds, and It's time to share an image and project from Flourishes.  Shirley has challenged the Friends of Flourishes design team to use the theme "Love Makes the World Go Around."  And what do you think of when you think of Valentine's Day and love?  Roses.  Who can resist roses?  Not many of us, and the red ones are so wonderful.  I am using an image from the Endearing Rose set and every red and green alcohol marker in my stash.  I will share this project with my friends at World Art Wednesday.

How did I do it?  I used a digital version, extracted the roses from the roses/vase image in the set, enlarged it for a square card and the correct size for the grid die.  Then I colored it, and cut it with the grid die.   And the bow?  My bow maker is in a secret and safe location so I am practicing a new technique for a double ribbon bow that I found HERE.  I figure I can always find my left hand and it's always available.

Now you should check out the Friends DT and see what they have created for your viewing pleasure based on our theme. Davi , Gloria, Kren, Shirley, Toni ,Vickie .

Cute Lil Owl

Hello, Friends!  It's my first post for the Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge Blog.  We're a new challenge and you can have some fun with us every week!  We're showcasing Digital Delights by Louby Loo images today.  How cute is this little owl with balloons!  I just had to use purple and green and add a hugs die cut.  You can't ever have enough birthday cards in your stash.  I will share my project at Word Art Wednesday.

Merry Christmas!

Hello, Friends!  It's time to share  projects using Flourishes lc sets of stamps.  Today I am showcasing the set called Must Be Santa and on another card a sentiment from Coastal Christmas.

Here is what I did to create this first card for you basing it on the theme of Christmas chosen by Gloria.  I colored the image using Promarkers and Copic markers and fussy cut it out.  I pulled the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Coastal Christmas set.  I used a cover plate die that reminded me of a peppermint stick on top of the green vertical card blank and mounted the image and a stitched die cut sentiment on top.  It isn't really a CAS card because there's not an expanse of white, but it's pretty clean and simple by my definition.

Flourishes products:  Must Be Santa, Coastal Christmas  (see below)
Other products:  Gina Marie Designs die, no name die, Promarkers, Copic markers, Wink of Stella clear glitter brush

The second card I have to share with you has more layers and items attached.  It uses the same set mounted on a patterned card stock.  I also colored the milk and cookies image with the same kinds of markers and fussy cut them all.

Products:  Must Be Santa
Other products:  Designer Paper from stash, Promarkers, Copic markers, snowflake confetti, Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen

Flourishes Stamps in Review

Hello, Friends!
It's kReN here again to share a Flourishes project with you.
We're doing a Stamps in Review and
I chose Coastal Christmas to showcase.

As a native Floridian, Christmas in my home state may be a different version from yours.
No snow, no cold to speak of, no mittens or heavy coats so we stoke the AC
instead of a gas fireplace, and sip hot cocoa, and
have our own version of falalalalala.

My Northern friends are having
snowy days and we're still in the mid-80's here and
I planted roses today.
A seagull and pastel colors and a trip to a beach is going
to be our Christmas gift to each other.

Please visit the Friends of Flourishes DT blogs
to see more wonderful projects.

A Walk in Winter

We've had some pretty gray and cold days recently in Florida.  We even had snow in Pensacola which is unusual.  I can attribute this A...
