A Card Is a Hug

My "go-to" die and sentiments for cards is used below.  Once I received this die from Simon Says Stamp, I knew it would become a favorite!  I teamed up Distress Oxides with a white embossed SU Winter Roses stamp set, a label die cut, and my hugs die.  A card is a hug with a fold in the middle, right?

Christmas Morning Coffee, Anyone?

Hello, Friends!  I'm sharing a coffee card for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop using Stampin Up products.  Love this critter and wanted to highlight that I LOVE flavored coffee anytime, but especially on Christmas morning!

Just checked in on my friend's blog and someone might have won my giveaway prize for 500 followers, but now there's a birthday giveaway, so I can try again.   It's always a good idea to have lots of birthday cards on hand for the birthdays that sneak up on you so I can share a card today that I just completed for my stash.  I love this color combo of brown, aqua, and buttery yellow.  Wish I could find the font for the word Birthday.  It would be a keeper!

Stars and Stripes Time

Hello, Friends!  Today's card uses two strips of stars and stripes fabric. The white card stock is embossed with SU's square lattice embossing folder.

The stars cascade down the card and are embossed with Provo Craft's Swiss Dots embossing folder.

The largest star is heat embossed with a Mark's Finest Papers sentiment.

A Card Can Tell a Whole Story

Faux Leather and Wax Paper Resist

Sometimes a card can tell a whole story.  A journey through the SW, Indian pictographs on cave walls or animal images burned onto leather, sandy and parched ground...That's how this card came to be.  Techniques:  the wax paper resist for one layer, stamped faux leather from the MFP/Speedy Fox and Friends challenge.  It's a masculine-themed using warm colors so it will also be entered in the following challenges:  Use Your Stuff--add texture;  Paper Creator Crafts- for the boys;  Delicious Doodles--something for the boys;  Word Art Wednesday--anything goes, and these blogs as well:

Hello Friendly Gull!

Hello, Stampers and Bloggers!  Today I have a card that sends a greeting to a friend.  Even my gulls seem to be saying hello.  I cut out clouds, stamped the flying gull (SU), stamped the gull on the pier (MFP), and added a sentiment from The Angel Company.  This card is based on the Sketch with a Twist challenge at MFP/SpeedyTV. It will also be entered at Aud Sentiment Challenge--for a guy, and Creative Card Crew Challenge--clouds.    I hope you enjoyed stopping by and will come again soon!

White on White

Hello again, Friends!  Today I have a white on white card to share with you.  The layers are popped up and an SU sentiment sets the tone.  The image is from the Hero Arts Creative Trees set.  I love the Labels 18 dies from Spellbinders, and their Grommet Tags set as well.  I hope the pearls adds to the elegant tone of the card.  This card will be entered in the Friends of Speedy TV challenge, Whimsical Designs, and Penny's Challenges to create a white card.  Stop by again soon!

Mini Bookmarks

Hello, Friends!  Back again to take a peek?  So glad you could stop by to see my Mini Bookmarks.  Have you ever had strips left over from card making?  Of course, you have.  Well,  I've been making Mini Bookmarks and want to share two of my favorites.  You can see from the bookmark on the right, what size it is.  It's a small mailing label with the image stamped on it.  The one on the left is two leftover strips with a popped-up sentiments and mini punch outs, both from SU!  These are for the MFP /Speedy Fox and Friends challenge here.  We're expecting rain here for the next few days.  Flowers in bloom soon!

Friends Are Like Quilts

Hello again, friends!  Do I love quilts?  Or do I love the idea of snuggling under the weight of it on a cool evening?  Is it the patterns or colors?  The mix-and-match of a quilt?  Who knows what it is, but when I saw a Tutorial Challenge at MFP/SpeedyTV for quilt frames, I knew I was going to try one.  I chose a dry embossing technique for the card base, assembled all my little squares, and then created the frame with label dies.  I love this oldie goldie, retired SU sentiment that seems appropriate for a quilt frame card.  We're having a "cool" front again in FL so those crotons have taken another field trip to in front of my sunny kitchen window.  So, friends, do you love quilts? This quilt frame card will also be entered into a challenge at Word Art Wednesday.

Little Easter Bunny

My second card today is a seasonal card.  Who can resist a little Easter bunny?  This image and sentiment is from Stampin' Up! and the flower is SU as well.  I am entering this card in the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge that calls for a bunny or Easter card and I think this one does both.  It will also be entered in a challenge at Word Art Wednesday.   Hope you like it!
