Congratulations in Black and White

Hello, Blogging Friends!  Don't you just love this layout for the Sparkle N Sprinkle challenge?  I normally don't do sketch challenges but this one just cried out for my attention.  Using a heart circles die from Spellbinders, some Creative Memories gingham paper, and the Provo Craft congratulations embossing folder and congrats die.  It's a sketch that can be used for all events and is clean, simple, and fun!

I needed a Thank You card and I went to my fave new technique called Puzzle Pieces that I learned about on MFP/SpeedyTV and will be entered in their Tutorial Time challenge for this technique and Word Art Wednesday because a TY card is always inspirational to the person who sends it as well as to the person who receives it.    I love this new stamp that was willed to me via a dear friend and a new friend.  TY Linda and Connie.  It uses dry embossing with a Provo Craft folder, Spellbinders pinked circles.  Thanks for stopping by!

White on White

Hello again, Friends!  Today I have a white on white card to share with you.  The layers are popped up and an SU sentiment sets the tone.  The image is from the Hero Arts Creative Trees set.  I love the Labels 18 dies from Spellbinders, and their Grommet Tags set as well.  I hope the pearls adds to the elegant tone of the card.  This card will be entered in the Friends of Speedy TV challenge, Whimsical Designs, and Penny's Challenges to create a white card.  Stop by again soon!

Leaves Of Green

Be sure to check out the animation on Google today.  It is too cute and will wish you a Happy St. Pat's Day!   Okay, back to business.  I love green so this card came together very quickly.  You can see the embossing folder background and then a favorite leaf stamp.  I did some fancy gesso/ink dtp techniques on the layers and added the gold bow for pizzazz.  I hope to enter this card in these challenges:

Who's a Pansy?

Brushed Ink Stripes Pansy Collage

Tutorial Time at Speedy TV has us brushing on ink in stripes.  It's a lovely way to add subtle color to a background or image and I enjoyed trying it.  My challenge to myself was to use a new embossing folder and border punch, and a stamp from my Spring Inspiration Station.  So I chose a pansy collage that I hadn't used in quite awhile that requires adding color with alc markers and pencils after heat embossing.  I brushed the inks onto the background layer as well as the stamped layer, used the new punch, and framed the pansy image.  I love the colors purple and green together and I'm thinking of spring even though we're having a cold front in Florida.  This card will also be entered into a challenge at Victorine Original Stamps, My Time to Craft Challenge,

Make a Card for Your State/Tribute to Tampa

The challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends at MFP (here) is to make a card that reflects your state.  My first attempt to capture the essence of Florida brought several things to mind--tourism, Mickey Land, beaches, gators, manatees, and Gasparilla since I am from Tampa.  Yes, I am a native Floridian, and there are very few of us in this state.  There was just too much for a card.  My final product is a tribute to my hometown in Florida--Tampa. This is state fair month and the Jose Gaspar pirate ship came in and took over the town of Tampa.  Check out the Gasparilla website at http://www.gasparillapiratefest.com/   It is quite an event!

In My Den Challenge

Always Proud--Our Flag

I was playing with embossing folders and dies and came up with this flag card for the impending holiday.  It's in it's "first life" stage and may end up with some glitter or Stickles on the stars, but it may end up being mailed "as is" because I like the simplicity of it.  It's a happy design and makes me smile.  July 4th is a theme on one of MFP's challenges this week so it goes to press because there are more Santas to paint, LOL!  And we know what colors I will be thinking of:  red, white, black...Maybe I will post some photos of completed Santas tomorrow.
