Thinking of You

Hello, friends.  It's kReN@afourthlife here and it's Fairy Hug Friday.  Today's post is a tribute to a super creative and talented lady, Bonnie Kohane.  Visit the Fairy Stamper YouTube channel and you will see videos by our wonderful video team.  So inspiring!

I recently watched one called Christmas Card Tutorial & Ink Blending on a CircleI loved the subtle Distress Ink colors of pumice stone, hickory smoke, faded blue jeans, and black soot and had to give it a try.

To my ink blended circle, I added one of the trees and owl from the FHS-092 Birch Tree Set.  I die cut the sentiment and frame edging elements and brushed the background with Brilliance Gold Galaxy ink.  It really sparkles in person.

Come and see more Fairy Hugs magic!

Flourishes Bows, Bling, and Flowers

Hello, Friends!  It's time to share a project using a Flourishes lc set of stamps.  Today I am showcasing Year of Flowers 2.

I love this California Poppy image designed by Bev Cole.  This week Toni has challenged us to use ribbon so I added this bow with some bling and layered it onto die cut frames. Can you tell I also love polka dots?

Year of Flowers 2

My second card uses Year of Flowers 2 as well.  This time I chose the Sunflower image, Twinkling H20's, and Flourishes Yellow Color Made Easy silk ribbon for pop.

Be sure to stop by the rest of the Friends of Flourishes DT blogs to see what they have to share with you today.  DaviGloriaKren (That's me!)ShirleyToniVickie

Tea Parties with a Child

Our challenge this month reminded me of something I did as a child.
My next door neighbor was a teenager and took time with me
to teach me how to make fudge and
to have make believe tea parties.
She had the tiniest little teacups and teapot
and we would sip sugared water and eat dainty sandwiches.
There were no other little girls on our block
and I will always remember those special moments with Teddy!

You can imagine my husband's surprise when I came home
from a flea market one day with the tiniest of tea sets
and with the biggest smile on my face.
When there is a little girl wishing she had a friend,
I may schedule a special tea party in honor of my friend.

Here are some cards inspired by this memory.

So to my friend Teddy wherever you may be,
I made a special card for you!

Hearts...and Flowers?

It's February already and we're thinking hearts and flowers.
But for my guy? I had to think clean and simple and no flowers.

I took my Stamptangle Pattern Block (J3713)
heat embossed with black EP,
and die cut hearts of different sizes.
Some polka dotted ribbon, Sentiments 1 (UMS7018) and
distress ink sponging, and my cards were ready to assemble.

As you can see, I ended up with three
Valentine's or Anytime Cards.
That is the beauty of a large background stamp image.
It gives and gives and gives.

See you soon!

Dragonfly Blue

THIS IS POST #2.
SCROLL DOWN FOR THE BLOG HOP INFORMATION.

Hello, Friends.  If it's Wednesday, I just might have a new card for you.    I have a Just for Fun Stamps image to share today.  It a dragonfly that is heat embossed and nested onto a Spellbinders scalloped oval and then onto a Spellbinders painted card cover die.  Ever watch a dragonfly?  It will sit for a long time until you get your camera and then it flits from one branch to another non-stop. So I stamp dragonflies and enjoy them that way.

Birdie in the Window

It's Wonderful Wednesday again and time to share JFF Stamps images.  January is all about the birds and backgrounds for me.  I chose Small Warbler again with a fancy fold card.
I needed a masculine card and thought the granite embossing powder and the designer paper might not seem as feminine.  Hope the recipient agrees. For a more feminine card, I would have added flowers around the frame.

This is a gatefold window card with some fancy die cutting to get the
window and designer paper liner effect.
If you are interested, join my blog,
leave me a note to do a tutorial on how to create this card.

Greetings from Afar

Hello, Friends!  We just returned from Savannah and to commemorate our bus trip, I made a card using a train and a mountain parkway stamp.  Odd, yes, but that's how my mind works.  I'm surprised that I didn't end up with a stamped image depicting Paris.  The train image is from MFP, the other stamps are from a clear set from Inkadinkado, I believe.  The MFP Simple Salutations challenge is to use an embellishment on the card so the painted wooden moon sits in a prominent space.  Thanks for stopping by!
