Imagine the Impossible

Hello, friends.  It's kReN@afourthlife and I am happy to be a guest designer this month for Polka Dot Orchard.  I'm up on the Friends of Polka Dot Orchard blog and today I am featuring a set called Grant Me Serenity.  I am calling my project Imagine the Impossible.

I used Chameleon Color Tone Markers to color the flowers, added a layer of vellum, and popped on the sentiment and additional flower.  I love how it turned out.

See you next week!

You Are a Treasure

Hello, Friends!
It's time for a Crafty Creations Challenges .
I'm putting on my DT hat for the first time.
It's anything goes and today the sponsor we are featuring is
A Day for Daisies and we have a prize for you.
I used an image called Garden Chair Gathering.
Here is a project to inspire you to join us.
I repeated the image for background paper,
printed a larger, central image on vellum
and colored on the back, and then die cut a series of frames.
I love this color combination and hope you do too!
Join us at the Crafty Creations Challenges this week!

Flourishes Beautiful Inside and Out

Hello, Friends!  I have challenged the Friends of Flourishes team to use vellum on their projects this week.  My project uses an image from the Year of Flowers 3 stamp set, the aster.  I love "all things daisy-like" so this is a favorite image of mine.

I sprinkled the vellum with Color Burst, watercolor crystals, and stamped the image.  I then painted it with Twinkling H20's for some beautiful shimmer, mounted it all behind a die cut frame,  and added the sentiment.

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere

Hello, Friends!  I have been making some calendar easel cards and thought the Christmas Cactus in the Winter Blooms stamp set from Flourishes lc would be just the thing.  My team member, Davi, suggested the theme of flowers this week so I have been having fun with alcohol markers and flower images.  I think this one is heading north to my sister-in-law.  I think she will love it.

Supplies:  Flourishes lc Winter Blooms and Winter Birds

And where did I get my inspiration for this card?  Well, gracing my porch area is this lovely Christmas cactus that has been blooming its heart out for me.  I get to see it while I am working in the kitchen.

Be sure to check out the inspiration provided by other team members:  Davi Gloria Kren (you are here!),  Shirley Toni, and  Vickie .  Don't forget to like us on Facebook at

Every Day Is a Gift

Hope you are considering joining our challenge this month because
August is a perfect time to make ocean and beach-themed cards.
JFF Rubber Stamps has some wonderful images for you to use.
As a native Floridian, I have never tired of palm trees
so it was natural for me to think of the palm tree silhouette image.

Consider today a wonderful gift!

Butterfly Vellum Window Card

Hello, Bloggers!  Today's card is something I call a Vellum Window Card.  The card is three panels with the first panel folded inside.  Cut a window in both of those panels and then dry emboss the middle section.  I inked one side of the embossing folder.  Insert your vellum image between panels 1 and 2, decorate, and you have a lovely Vellum Window Card.  I am entering  the Friends of Speedy TV challenge to use vellum, and also stop by Flutterby Wednesday's to see more lovely butterfly creations.  This card will also be entered in these challenges:  Joanna Sheen's Challenge--Spring into Spring;  Pile It On--embossing;   Scrappy Frogs--Think Spring;  Avenue 613--Anything Goes;  Word Art Wednesdays--Anything Goes;  Victorine Original Stamps--Springtime Flowers.    I hope this will inspire you to use vellum.  Stop in again!
