Life Is Better

Hello, Friends!  It's time to share a card that makes me smile.  I love to see bears in the mountains...at a distance.  However, I really enjoy making cards with bears on them.  So how about mama bear and her cubs taking a hike in the mountains?

I will share this project with some of my friends at these challenges:

Five Pines Shimmer and Shine

Hello, my dear friends! It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.  The DT has been challenged to create two cards with each stamp.  This week it's all about shimmer so I took out all the media I have that sparkles and shimmers.

The second card turns to autumn colors.  I used a napkin for the background, stamped the image on the back of an acetate, and added fall colored sequins for the bling.

See you next Friday!

Trees, Fence, Clouds Twice

Hello, my dear friends! It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.  The DT challenge this month is to create two cards with each set of stamps.  Using Trees, Fence, and Clouds, I created a winter tag card and a fall card.

Silver embossing the large image created a holiday feel.  Then painting the sky and clouds with shimmer paint in blue and lavender and the grass in shimmer green added more shine to the card.   The sentiment was cut out of silver card stock to finish up the card and several layers of metallic card stock created the tag card.

For the second card, I chose fall colors.  Pan Pastels were used for the sky and foreground;  Distress Inks for the foliage.

Silhouette Grazing Horse Twofer

Hello, my dear friends! It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.  The DT has been challenged to use each of our stamps this month for two seasons, one for a holiday and one for another season.  I used the Silhouette Grazing Horse set for this pair of cards.

The first card is a monochromatic Winter scene.  I painted the background with shimmer paint and created a hill behind the horse, then used the cloud template and distress ink to create clouds.  I added white ink to the branches and to the top of the horse and groundto create a dusting of snow.  Two layers of a die cut sentiment completed the winter card.

The second card ushers in Fall in all its glory.  Using the leaf cluster stamp that is included in the set in different colors created the multi-colored foliage against the Distress Ink background.  A die cut sentiment finishes it off.

Starry Walk in the Woods

Hello, crafty friends!  Mama Bear and her cubs are taking a walk in the woods on a starry night for my post for Blue Knight Stamps today.  I heat embossed in black against a watercolor galaxy sky.

Blue Knight Stamps is doing a September New Release giveaway! Head over to the FANS OF BLUE KNIGHT RUBBER STAMPS Facebook group HERE, to enter!

It's easy to make a watercolor galaxy sky.  Take watercolor paper and add swirling strokes of dark blue, dark red, dark aqua, and purple to the paper.  Spritz with water if you would like for the colors to blend. After it dries, create a black wash and add to some parts of the card. Add white gesso flicks or silver dots for the stars.  There are many tutorials out there on the Galaxy Technique.  Each one will be unique and fun to create.

Western Sunset

Hello, my dear friends! It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps using a new release image called Ranch Fence.  It reminds me of the trips we made out west in our motor home.  I loved the western sunsets! I used alcohol markers for most of the scene and the sunrise and sunset Pan Pastels for the sunset.

Heading Out to the Barn

I am waiting for fall and each day that we have just a small dip in the temperatures, I am assured that it is coming.  Today, I am featuring a Blue Knight Rubber Stamp image called Path to the Barn.  I pulled out my Zig Real Brush markers and did an impressionist technique for watercoloring.  Hope you like it.

BKRS Glittery Snowy Village

Hello, my dear friends!
It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.
This month, we are focusing on the winter holidays.

For my projects this month, I will be using
Heidi's Tree, Snowy Village, and Come Let Us Adore Him.
Today I am using Snowy Village.
along with card stock and papers from LCI Paper.

This card uses an interesting technique called the Dryer Sheet Technique.
Color your image with vivid colors. I used Chameleon Color Tone Pens for this one.
Run your image, face down, through a Xyron machine so the image side will be sticky.
Place a used dryer sheet on top and flatten down.
Sprinkle with fine glitter and rub it into the dryer sheet.
Tap off excess glitter and complete the card.

So sparkly!

BKRS Memories of the Prairie

Hello, my dear friends!
It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.
This month, we are focusing on the winter holidays.
No matter what you celebrate or call your winter holidays,

we have inspiration for you.

For my projects this month, I will be using
Heidi's Tree, Snowy Village, and Come Let Us Adore Him.
Here's a card using Heidi's Tree and Come Let Us Adore Him
and card stock and papers from LCI Paper.

Florida doesn't have any snow but we have days that look like this card.
You may have days like this before your first snowfall.
This card reminds me of Kanapaha Prairie in Gainesville
where we lived for 19 years

I am happy to share this project at the following challenges:  Craft Rocket Challenges #62 August - Anything Goes; Crafting With An Attitude  Always Anything Goes;   Crimbo Crackers Must Be Christmas Related #190 Anything Goes;  Imagine That Creative Playground  Aug - Anything Goes

Chickadee

Hello, my dear friends!
It's time to share a project for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.

I've been playing with Pan Pastels purchased at the BKRS store linked below.
It is so easy to create a background and that's how this card started.
After stamping the Chicadee image and the Good Morning Rooster sentiment,
I die cut a deckle frame, added a ribbon corner, and a rectangular frame.
The ribbon was provided by The Ribbon Place.
